Today, I spent some time working on the physics simulation. I set it up so that any body could be tapped/clicked to drag and launch. I also added a function so that people can pinch the touchscreen in or out to change the size of the planet. I also optimized the desktop version so that a user can scroll the mouse wheel to do the same thing. I tried to make it feel more realistic by making it so that larger bodies launch slower than smaller ones with the same drag distance. The next thing I plan to do is make it so that people can click on any body to select it then they can change the size. I also want to let people zoom in and out. I think I'm going to keep working on this simulation and set it up further so that people can add and delete bodies. Then we could implement it into the game as a creative mode where players can play around with the physics. We also might incorporate some kind of scoring method so that people can have an incentive to play creative mode. They would want to try to beat their high score or those of their friends.
